Main Battle Tanks For Sale – New and Refurbished

These main battle tanks are all available for purchase right now, if you have enough money and the right paperwork.

The adage you get what you pay for is very true when buying main battle tanks. The older designs which are still available for sale are useful only against light infantry. One expensive modern tank can be worth a hundred less expensive tanks using yesterday’s technology.

Main battle tanks are constantly being upgraded. Yesterday’s Soviet T-80 tank is not comparable to today’s Ukranian T-80 tank. caveat emptor.

Soviet/Russian Armor and Artillery Design Practices: 1945 to Present
Soviet/Russian Armor and Artillery Design Practices: 1945 to Present

Soviet/Russian Armor and Artillery Design Practices: 1945 to Present starts the reader at the end of World War 2 and follows the course of armored fighting vehicle and artillery designs right up to the most modern equipment now in prototype stage or in service. The book is illustrated with more than 310 photographs and more than 250 line drawings. This book represents THE reference source for Soviet/Russian armored fighting vehicles and artillery. No other book comes close to offering this detailed level of information on the path and design and all programs relating to tanks, APCs, artillery, and other AFVs beginning with the post-war programs.

T-72 Main Battle Tank 1974-1993
T-72 Main Battle Tank 1974-1993

The Russian T-72 Ural tank is the most widely-deployed main battle tank of the current generation. Used by the armies of the former Warsaw pact and Soviet Union, it has also been exported in large numbers to many of the states in the Middle East. This book reveals the previously secret history behind the tank. Steven J Zaloga examines the conditions under which the T-72 was designed and produced. Technical aspects of the weapon are also discussed, including its EDZ reactive armour which, when it first appeared in December 1984, gave NATO a nasty shock.

T-54 and T-55 Main Battle Tanks 1944-2004
T-54 and T-55 Main Battle Tanks 1944-2004

The T-54 and T-55 tanks are the most widely manufactured tanks of all time. They have become ubiquitous to wars around the globe since the 1950s, starting with Hungary in 1956, and including the the Arab-Israeli wars of 1967, 1973 and 1982, the Vietnam war of 1967-75, the Iran-Iraq War of 1980-88, the Afghanistan conflict, Operation Desert Storm, the Yugoslav Civil Wars, and the recent conflict in Iraq. This book will examine the roots of this prolific tank family, starting with the Soviet Army’s first attempts to replace the legendary T-34 during World War II, and covering the T-43 and the T-44, the more successful T-54, and its ultimate evolution into the T-55.

BMP Infantry Fighting Vehicle 1967-94

The BMP represented an important change in mechanised infantry tactics, providing the infantry squad with unprecedented firepower, mobility and protection. With over 55,000 manufactured since 1966, it is also one of the most numerous armoured vehicles ever built. Steven Zaloga examines the development and performance of this radical machine.

Warmachines No.10 : IDF T54, T-55, T-62

This tenth edition of the WARMACHINES series initiates the special 24 page mini-file, which utilizes the comparatively fewer available photographs to document a worthy subject. Following the many wars fought by the Israeli Defence Forces (IDF), large quantities of captured enemy equipment were pressed into Israeli service following extensive modifications. The vehicles in question covered in this unique publication include the Soviet-built T-54, T-55, and T-62 Main Battle Tanks, which, after modifications by the IDF Ordnance Corps, were designated as the Tiran 4, Tiran 5, and Tiran 6, respectively. Such modifications included communications equipment upgrades, stowage modifications, armament replacement, and of course, new painting and markings. Most of the photographs in this book were taken at the Armored Corps museum at Latrun in Israel.
